What does “Wasian” mean?
“Wasian” — a blend of “White” and “Asian” — is a term that has grown from social media slang into a powerful identity marker for millions of mixed-race people around the world. But the term has evolved beyond its literal roots: today, it broadly represents anyone of mixed-Asian heritage.
From TikTok trends to Hollywood red carpets, Wasian identity is having a major cultural moment. Yet despite the visibility, there has never been a centralized place to discover, celebrate, and connect with mixed-Asian individuals making an impact across every industry.
Our Mission
wasiandata exists to fill that gap. We're creating a living, searchable database of Wasian influencers, actors, musicians, athletes, entrepreneurs, chefs, models, and creators — people who are shaping culture and breaking barriers.
Our goals are simple:
- Visibility — Make it easy to find and celebrate mixed-Asian public figures.
- Representation — Provide a resource that reflects the true diversity of the Wasian community.
- Community — Build a space where mixed-Asian people can see themselves reflected.
The Vision
We envision wasiandata as more than a static list. In time, we aim to offer community-submitted profiles, in-depth features and interviews, heritage breakdowns and analytics, and tools for brands to discover and collaborate with mixed-Asian talent.
